GRIEVING FOR AMERICA

It was a noble experiment, though.

OLD SAYINGS AREN'T ALWAYS TRUE.

Sticks & stones...

I grew up believing this old saying... what did I know?
"Sticks & Stones may break my bones, but names will never hurt me."

Gender wars continue...

We've found the answer to this one.

JUST GO AWAY!

The KOG (i.e., Bill Maher) called this one!

I disagree Bill, I think there is censorship in this country.
"I wouldn't ever say there's censorship in this country,  But there's a lot of peer pressure.  Because when anybody says anything that's the least bit feather ruffling, everybody just goes nuts.  If anybody in this country is forced to undergo a single moment of discomfort, the person who caused it must go away."

ANOTHER GOOD QUESTION!

National racial issues and tensions...

We've found the answer to this one, too.

A WHOLE NEW BALL GAME!

New directions for school psychology.

Suddenly, learning disabilities don't seem to be the priority any more.
What do we, as mental health professionals, need to do now?  Can a whole field change over night?

AN ONGOING SERVICE FOR YOU

Labeling Links...
Donald J. Asbridge, Ed.S., KOG Editor

As an ongoing service for you, the KOG will accumulate links related to RWOL and the intense debate about SLD and labeling.  If you find any other great links relating to these topics, please forward them for inclusion here to the KOG Editor at shrink@igalaxy.net

April's Links...

Go to the California Association of School Psychologist's website and read what they have to say about EMR.  Finally, some signs of life from CASP!  Then take the survey.  CASP wants your opinion on whether or not to get rid of the EMR label.  There's only one problem:  why aren't they asking if it's time to get rid of SLD (and all the other special education labels) too?  Still, it's a step in the right direction, even if twenty years too late.
